Punjab CM approves 2,600km road projects
Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi approved the construction and maintenance of 2,600 kilometres of roads, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
The roads will be constructed and repaired across the Punjab with the cost of Rs1.5 billion
A total of 105 roads of best quality will be constructed, repaired and expanded in different districts.
The chief minister approved the project in a special meeting that was briefed about the road repair project too.
Construction of roads, their rehabilitation and completion of expansion projects will facilitate people, the chief minister said.
He issued directives to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during work on the project.
Secretary C&W Sohail Anwar gave a briefing on the progress of road construction and rehabilitation.
A sum of 104 road construction, repair and maintenance projects were pending and in less than a year, 104 road projects will be completed with excellence.
A special committee is monitoring in each district and division to ensure the construction quality.
Nine projects of construction of important roads in different districts of Punjab have been completed, the meeting was told. Work on thirty-three highways of different districts nears completion.
