Martyrs are our pride: COAS

On the completion of three years of the Operation Raad ul Fasaad that was launched on February 22, 2017, to eliminate terrorism, Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has commended security forces’ actions and sacrifices.
In tweets posted by DG ISPR on Saturday, the Army Chief said that we (the Army) were backed by the nation, we had to pay “a monumental cost” in men and material. “Salute to our martyrs, our real heroes, our pride.”
In the tweets, he also saluted the resilient nation of Pakistan in defeating extremists’ ideology.
He said that this journey from terrorism to tourism, the security apparatus of the country gained “unparalleled success” as it was backed by the entire nation.
In addition, he said that the gains of two-decades-long war on terror shall be consolidated to achieve durable peace, adding that the Army is “aware and capable” of thwarting any threat to the security and sovereignty of Pakistan.

Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad: The operation was launched across the country (2017).
