Two arrested in Karachi for kidnapping trader for ransom 

In a joint operation carried out in PIB Colony in Karachi, Rangers and Anti-Violent Crime Cell arrested two persons who were involved in a kidnapping for ransom, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Spokesman for Rangers said that those who were arrested were Usman alias Babu and Hudood Ahmad. “A Vigo Dala, bearing fake number plate, and cellphones were also recovered from their possession,” he added.

On February 17, the suspects had kidnapped a trader from Azizabad area of Karachi at gunpoint, bundled him into the Vigo Dala and shifted him to an unknown location.

Later, they demanded ransom of Rs10 million from the family of the trader by calling them from international numbers.

The spokesman informed that the law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) raided a house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal locality of the city and recovered the trader. “The suspects fled by firing into the air. But the LEAs chased them and arrested them from PIB Colony,” he elaborated.

The spokesman said that raids were being conducted for the arrest of their accomplices.
