PPP Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari Saturday expressed concern over the disappearance of fishermen in the sea near Thatta, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Zardari has urged the Sindh government to take steps to save the lives of fishermen.
Zardari has advised the elected representatives and officials of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) administration to contact the families of the missing person.
It is relevant to mention that earlier, as many as 12 fishermen went missing after three boats carrying 16 people sank into the Arabian Sea near Keti Bandar port of Thatta city.
Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) teams rescued four of the fishermen. However, they continued the search for the remaining 12 fishermen but strong winds were hampering their operation.
PMSA personnel said their teams have been responding to such calls from the fishermen in difficulty amid the strong winds and harsh weather conditions at the sea.
