Orlando Bloom reflects on parenting shift after Katy Perry split

Orlando Bloom is embracing a new chapter in his life following his split from long-time partner Katy Perry earlier this year.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star recently opened up about how fatherhood has evolved for him post-breakup, especially when it comes to co-parenting their four-year-old daughter, Daisy.

In a candid conversation on The Oprah Podcast, Bloom, 48, revealed how he’s working on becoming a more mindful and patient parent, a transformation he credits to the Hoffman Process, a personal development program designed to help individuals break negative patterns formed in childhood.

"My job as a parent now is to allow my children to grow without getting in their way," Bloom shared. "Don’t get in the way of anyone else’s journey. Don’t let anyone get in the way of your journey, and just be grateful for the opportunities that are presented to you."

The actor is also father to 14-year-old Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr. He admitted that the lessons learned from the Hoffman Process have helped him stay calm during conflict, particularly when navigating challenges with his teenage son.

"Now, even if I am triggered and we’re in conflict, I can take a step back," he explained. "I can re-engage in a conversation from [Flynn’s] perspective without overwhelming him with my emotions."

Bloom and Perry, who first met in 2016 and got engaged in 2019, welcomed Daisy in August 2020. Though they quietly split in June 2025, the couple remains committed to raising their daughter together with mutual love and respect.

"Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting," their representatives told US Weekly. "Their shared priority is  and always will be  raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect."

The couple has since been spotted together with their children, including a recent family moment shared on Instagram, showing Bloom, Perry, Daisy, and Flynn enjoying time together on a yacht.

Amid the split, Bloom posted a cryptic Instagram message: "The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next." He later shared a quote by Carl Jung on loneliness, possibly hinting at his emotional journey.

Despite personal changes, Bloom remains optimistic and focused on his children’s well-being. “It’s not easy at all, but now I have the tools to handle it,” he said.
