The economically suppressed people should get ready for receiving another jolt at the hands of the government as the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has landed its request at National Electric Power Regulatory Authority for Rs4.75 per unit increase in the electricity price, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Reportedly, the CPPA on Monday requested Nepra to allow it to raise the power tariff by Rs4.75/unit. The request was made in the head of fuel price adjustment in the month of October. The Nepra will hear the power division plea on Nov 30.

In October, a total 11.29 billion units of electricity was generated and in the same month 10.98 billion units of electricity were sold to the Power Distribution Companies (Discos).

The CPPA request included all Discos except K-Electric.
