Senior journalists and analysts came down hard on the central bank chief for his remarks to defend the unprecedented increase in prices.

During 24NewsHD TV channel programme – DNA- Salim Bokhari said he has never seen an economic manager who defends incompetence by passing such an irresponsible statement.

The State Bank of Pakistan governor said the rupee depreciation would benefit overseas Pakistanis and the global investor would do business here.

Salim Bokhari said the economic managers should take steps to cope with the challenge so that the hard-hit masses could be provided with relief.

PJ Mir said that the central bank chief may think of attracting global investors here in Pakistan.

Iftikhar Ahmed said the government increases prices of essential commodities when it has 45-day stock so that they can rob the people of their hard-earned money.

He said that this is called cartels. The cartels and mafias Imran Khan came into the government to eliminate are present with him, he added. Iftikhar Ahmed said PM Imran Khan should not put the people of Pakistan in trouble.

PPP’s Khursheed’s bail too came under discussion. Salim Bokhari said NAB kept Khursheed Shah in custody for more than two years and failed to prove anything and Shah had to knock on the door of the Supreme Court for justice.

He said Maulana Fazlur Rehman is in Karachi and If PPP and PDM come together, the movement against the government can gain momentum, he said. He predicted that the next government will be formed by PTI and PPP together, on which Javed Iqbal said that he is seeing Shehbaz Sharif as the next PM.
