Peshawar reports massive 242 dengue cases

There was no let-up in detection of dengue cases across the country as Peshawar logged a massive 242 more cases during the last 24 hours (Wednesday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi continued to post more cases as the disease claimed another life in Rawalpindi’s Holy Family Hospital while three dengue-related deaths have so far been reported this year and 1,481 people became victims of this vector-borne disease this season in the garrison city.
On the other side, with each passing day, the number of dengue-infected patients have been increasing in Islamabad and the number of deaths is also continuing.
On Thursday, 96 more people were diagnosed with dengue virus during 24 the last hours in Islamabad. The season’s tally stood at 1,657 so far; out of them, 53 cases surfaced in rural areas and 43 cases in urban locality. A total of five deaths occurred due to dengue in Islamabad.
Lahore, where dengue cases were upticked, has seen a surge in last two days as 63 new cases emerged in the city hospitals, while the number of patients under treatment in hospitals has reached 208.Moreover, dengue larvae have been recovered in 1006 different hotspots in the city in the last 24 hours.
As per health department report, 242 more cases of dengue were reported in Peshawar in the last 24 hours. Of them, 121 in Peshawar, 33 in Kohat, 23 in Haripur and 21 in Charsadda respectively. The vector borne-disease has claimed 6 lives so far in the city.
The number of active cases across the province has reached to 1,614 whereas the total number of cases across the province has gone up to 5,506.
On the other hand, the number of patients recovered from this virus are 3,886, as per report.
The report further bears that at least 130 dengue patients are presently under treatment in different hospitals in the city.
Dengue patient cases continued to increase at alarming rate Kareachi also with 261 more patients diagnosed in past 24 hours as per Sindh Health Department. Meanwhile 27 people have succumbed to death suffering from this growing epidemic.
