Barrister Gohar confirms PTI September 27 long march

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has reaffirmed that the party’s long march towards Islamabad will take place on September 27 and remain completely peaceful, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

Speaking outside Parliament, Gohar said meetings were held between PTI leadership and the parliamentary party, followed by press conferences.

Gohar said PTI had always tried to improve the situation and had never closed the door to reconciliation.

However, he questioned how the party could be asked not to protest if justice was denied, its voice remained unheard and its demands were not addressed.

He also questioned how the situation could improve if court orders were not implemented and issues related to meetings and medical treatment remained unresolved.

Gohar said improvement in a democratic society came through clear cut actions rather than verbal claims.

Regarding the September 27 march, Gohar said the long march would certainly take place, God willing, and PTI would march towards Islamabad while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere after entering the capital.

He said the march would reach Islamabad, where there would be stalls and a festive atmosphere.

Gohar also expressed reservations over actions taken against the female family members of the party’s founding chairman and party workers, calling on the state to review its actions.

Barrister Gohar requested the state to take practical steps and said PTI needed to feel that its demands were being taken seriously.

He said the current situation would harm both the state and democracy and added that Pakistan and Islamabad belonged to the people and there should be no obstacles in the way of those who had voted for PTI.

Gohar said the party’s political struggle would continue until justice was served and progress was made on its fundamental demands.
