PIA suspends flight operations to Kabul once again
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Monday suspended Kabul flight operations due to lack of necessary services at the Hamid Karzai International Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the schedule, PIA ought to operate three flights to Kabul airport at 8:30am, and two flights at 12:30pm. PIA flights were scheduled to bring families and staff of the European Union and Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The US President Joe Biden on Sunday said that the U.S.-led evacuation of Americans, at-risk Afghans, and others from the Kabul airport accelerated this weekend.
Earlier, a large number of people gathered at the runway to flee from Afghanistan after the Taliban took control of the capital last Sunday.
A PIA spokesperson said, “There is no security and staff at the Kabul airport and a large number of people crowded the airport tarmac.”
