Rashid Khan quits Lahore Qalandars, returns to Afghanistan

World top bowler Rashid Khan has decided to leave the Lahore Qalandars team so he could join and play an upcoming series against Zimbabwe in Afghanistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Afghanistan’s best talent Rashid Khan took this decision on Monday and left for his country the same day.

In a post Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Lahore Qalandars Sameen Rana said, “Thank you Rashid Khan for all your efforts and contributions. You are not only a great player but also a wonderful person. You are a true Qalandar for life. Wish you all the best for the upcoming series against Zimbabwe.”

It has been reported that he will not be available for the next Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches. Rashid will now play the PSL-7 next year.

Earlier, Rashid Khan, the leg-spin all-rounder who made his debut in Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Lahore Qalandars on Sunday, made his presence felt from the word go.

The Afghan’s prowess with both bat and ball and fast bowler Shaheen Afridi’s three-wicket haul paved the way for their four-wicket win over Peshawar Zalmi in the first match of the day at National Stadium in Karachi.
