Gold prices increase again in Pakistan

Gold regained lost ground on Thursday as bargain hunting trickled in after prices dropped some day earlier in response to the continued recovery of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.

Data released by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) showed that the price of gold (24 karats) increased by Rs500 per tola and Rs429 per 10 grams to settle at Rs1,96,100 and Rs1,68,124, respectively.

The price of 10 grams of gold of 22 karats was traded at the local market at Rs1,54,114 in the local market on Thursday.

Meanwhile, 24-karat pure silver prices in the domestic market decreased by Rs30 and traded at Rs2,120 per tola while 10 grams of 22-karat silver traded at Rs1,817.55 per 10 grams.

In the international market, gold prices decreased by US$14 per ounce and traded at US$1,826 per ounce.
