The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Sunday issued 10-point instructions for caretaker governments in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24News HD TV Channel.
As per the instructions of the ECP, both the caretaker governments will be limited to day-to-day affairs and the caretaker chief ministers will submit their reports to the commission within three days of assuming their offices.
The ECP said the caretaker governments will not be able to do postings or transfers of government employees as well as these governments will also not be able to announce development schemes during their tenure.
It is also instructed that the transfers of government employees will be done with the approval of the Election Commission while the development funds of all local governments of both provinces have been frozen.
The caretaker governments will support the Election Commission in transparent and fair elections, the ECP said, adding that the caretaker governments will withdraw all privileges and residences from former Chief Ministers, former Ministers, and former Advisors.
The ECP also instructed both the caretaker governments that they will call back additional personnel and will provide the list of appointments in institutions on a political basis to the Commission.
