G20 summit urges fair resolutions to global conflicts
Declaration highlights conflicts in Palestine, Sudan, Ukraine and Congo: Summit in Johannesburg focuses on solidarity, equality and sustainability
The G20 summit of the world’s twenty largest economies was held in Johannesburg, the capital of South Africa.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the United States boycotted the meeting.
The organisation called for a fair resolution of the conflicts in Palestine, Sudan, Ukraine and the Congo.
In its declaration, the G20 expressed its commitment to work together for a just, inclusive and lasting peace in accordance with the United Nations Charter.
The participants also emphasised the need to protect the supply of critical minerals from geopolitical tensions.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and other global leaders attended the summit.
According to international media, the theme of this year’s G20 meeting was solidarity, equality and sustainability.
