Prime Minister Imran Khan has stated that the government is effectively using technology especially artificial intelligence (AI) in order to detect the spread of coronavirus in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking in Islamabad, Imran Khan said all relevant agencies including ISI are being directed to initiate plans and strategies regarding the use of AI which not only can help detect corona-positive patients but it would also assist the administration on the ground in quick decision making regarding quarantine, testing, medical care whenever and wherever necessary. Moreover, movements of corona positive patients can be tracked by AI which would ensure that virus does not spread over a large population, he added.

The PM also stated that corona is a global challenge and the government is using all available resources to tackle the pandemic. Even the developed countries are facing a tough challenge by implementing a complete lockdown therefore we are also looking into different options to minimize the lockdown but this would take time, he added.
