People across the country have started preparations for celebrating Eidul Fitr marking the end of the holy month of Ramazan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Sunday.
Braving inflation, women and children have been gearing up their shopping drive since the 21st of the holy month of Ramazan.
The shoppers allege that this year too, the government has failed to provide them with relief and let shopkeepers go on a looting spree while shopkeepers blamed the inflation on political turmoil.
The government’s special price control squads claim their efforts have been bearing fruit. Youngsters have been upholding the tradition of showing pre-Eid shopping enthusiasm to look different.
A good number of people rush to Lahore’s markets like Anarkali Bazaar, The Mall, Mall of Lahore, Fortress, Model Town Link Road, and Y-Block Market. As usual, bangles, handkerchiefs, and jewelry are the center of attraction for women.
Shoppers, especially women, are busy bargaining at markets and bazaars of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. People throng commercial market, Moti Bazaar, Chan Bazar, Purana Qilla, Benazir Bhutto Road, Jinnah Market, and Jinnah Supermarket.
Traffic managers are in action to avoid vehicular mess while anti-encroachment teams too claimed no one is allowed to encroach upon the road and other such space. Traders' bodies said the business activities resume after the global virus crisis, but the prices of items surged.
