Nationwide anti-polio campaign from August 2
Around 23 million children will be administered drops during the nationwide anti-polio campaign which the government has decided to launch on August 2, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Quoting sources, the TV channel reported that actually, it would be a three-day campaign while two days had been designated as ‘catch-up’ days.
On these days those children would be immunized against the disease who were left out during the three-day campaign, the sources elaborated.
Giving further details, they said the campaign would cover total 67 districts in all four provinces of the country: 22 in Punjab, 18 in Sindh, 18 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 16 districts in Balochistan and also Islamabad.
Around 180, 000 polio workers will administer drops to the children.
