Met Office issues alert for rain in north-eastern Punjab

The Met Office has issued an alert for the north-eastern districts of Punjab, warning of rain in several cities over the next one to three hours, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to the forecast, Lahore is likely to receive rain within the coming hours, while showers are also expected in Narowal, Sialkot, Sheikhupura and Gujranwala. In some locations, the weather may also turn thundery.

Officials have advised citizens to take precautionary measures in view of the changing weather conditions. 

They said temperatures are likely to fall following the rainfall, bringing some relief from the recent heat.

The warning also notes that water may accumulate in low-lying areas, creating temporary difficulties for residents and traffic movement. 

Relevant departments have been directed to remain on alert and respond quickly if needed.

The public has been urged to stay cautious and monitor weather updates as conditions may change rapidly.
