Zainab Raza's bold remarks on dressing choice trigger strong reactions
Pakistani actress, model, and influencer Zainab Raza has sparked an online debate after candidly sharing her views on personal style, modesty, and societal judgement.
A video circulating on social media captures the actress speaking openly about her dressing choices, emphasising that she adjusts her outfits according to the environment and believes individuals should be free to make decisions about their own appearance.
"Honestly, my life, my rules. Mujhy jahan py jo pehnna hai, mujy wo pata hai. Mein market mein skirt pehn kar nahi jati, wahan py mein suit pehn kar jati hoon. Jahan py mujy pata hai it's comfortable to wear whatever I want to, I do it" (Honestly, my life, my rules. I know exactly what to wear and where. I don't wear a skirt when I go to the market; I wear a suit there. Where I know it's comfortable to wear whatever I want to, I do it.) she said.
Zainab further pointed out that the world extends beyond Pakistan and questioned why some people admire internationally renowned Muslim models while criticizing local women for similar choices.
"Dunya boht bari hai, sirf Pakistan nahi hai pori dunya mein hi. Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid are Muslims, wohi larky unki tasveeron ko like kar rahy hoty hain, lekin kyun ke hum Pakistani Muslim hain to wohi larky hamy hate kar rahy hoty hain" (The world is huge; the entire world doesn't just consist of Pakistan. Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid are Muslims, and the exact same guys are constantly liking their pictures, but just because we are Pakistani Muslims, those very same guys are hating on us) she remarked.
Expressing her stance against online scrutiny, the actress stated that everyone has the same physical features and that people should refrain from acting as moral judges.
"Har ek ky paas tangain hain, har ek ky paas arms hain, har ek ky paas ek chehra hai. Kon zyada dikhata hai, kon nahi, wo us insan par chor do. Aap khuda ban kar na baith jao aur logon ko judge karna shuru kar do" (Everyone has legs, everyone has arms, everyone has a face. Who shows more and who doesn't, leave that up to that person. Don't sit there acting like God and start judging people) she said.
Zainab concluded by acknowledging religious teachings while stressing that faith remains a personal matter.
"Mujhy bhi pata hai Quran mein kya likha hua hai, aapko bhi pata hai. Aapka Khuda aap ky saath, mera Khuda mery saath" (I also know what is written in the Quran, and you know it too. Your God is with you, my God is with me) she added.

Her remarks quickly drew mixed reactions from social media users.
One commenter wrote, “The thing Allah forbids, no one has the right to argue over it.”
Another noted, “At least she didn’t say, ‘Allah knows what’s in my heart and He knows my intentions.’”
