Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has issued a directive to all television channels regarding their analytical programmes about the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The Pemra, in its directive, stated that one-sided and unnecessary analyses about the NAB are being aired on the TV channels which is a violation of the Supreme Court’s suo motu notice.

The Authority was of the view that as per the apex court’s ruling analyzing the sub judice cases are prohibited.

Pemra said biased views are being aired without taking NAB’s version which tantamount to dent the credibility of the programme.

Pemra advised the TV channels to strictly scrutinize the content being aired through such programmes.
