PM, services chiefs discuss security situation at ISI Headquarters

Prime Minister has got a security briefing from the Inter-Services Intelligence Agency, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel Monday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the ISI headquarters on Monday and received an update on the security situation. The premier was greeted by DG ISI Lt Gen Faiz Hameed.
Interior Minister Sh Rashid Ahmad and Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin also accompanied PM Khan.
Prime Minister chaired a meeting at the ISI Headquarters which was also attended by Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, DG ISI General Faiz Hamid, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak and Information Minister Fawad Ch.
Foreign Minister Qureshi briefed the meeting regarding the foreign relations affairs and his visit to the United Nations.
The meeting was also given a detailed briefing on the Afghan Peace Process and discussed at length the emerging situation in Afghanistan.
The meeting also discussed the regional and internal security situation. After the meeting, PM Khan had lunch with the COAS and other attendees of the meeting.
PM launches Ehsas Saving Vaults programme
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the Ehsas Saving Vaults programme in Islamabad on Monday.
While talking to the Ehsas Saving ceremony, the premier said that the economy of poor countries had been affected severely by the Covid-19 pandemic, adding that many people had fallen below the poverty line in many countries.
He said the daily wagers and labourers were the segments of society who were hit hard by the corona outbreak.
He said his government had started Ehsas Programme to reach out to the deserving people. He said 25% population of Pakistan lived below the poverty line. He maintained that his government had provided financial assistance to the deserving by following the standards of merit and transparency. He said societies that ignore their weaker sections, could not make progress.
PM Khan said Ehsas Programme was the fourth successful programme of his government. He congratulated the programme team saying the success of the programme was due to its transparency. He said had we not run the Ehsas programme speedily, the weaker section of our society would have faced even more financial hardships.
Through Ehsas Vaults Saving Programme, the government would provide interest-free loans to poor women. The programme anticipates the financial and digital participation of 0.7 million families. It aims to assist poor families to stave off from financial losses, fulfil emergency needs and make the investment. The programme encourages savings which could help reduce poverty.
The newly introduced saving account One Woman One Bank Account Policy would promote financial participation.
