While talking to the Ehsas Saving ceremony, the premier said that the economy of poor countries had been affected severely by the Covid-19 pandemic, adding that many people had fallen below the poverty line in many countries.

He said the daily wagers and labourers were the segments of society who were hit hard by the corona outbreak.

He maintained that his government had provided financial assistance to the deserving by following the standards of merit and transparency. He said societies that ignore their weaker sections, could not make progress.

PM Khan said Ehsas Programme was the fourth successful programme of his government. He congratulated the programme team saying the success of the programme was due to its transparency. He said had we not run the Ehsas programme speedily, the weaker section of our society would have faced even more financial hardships.

Through Ehsas Vaults Saving Programme, the government would provide interest-free loans to poor women. The programme anticipates the financial and digital participation of 0.7 million families. It aims to assist poor families to stave off from financial losses, fulfil emergency needs and make the investment. The programme encourages savings which could help reduce poverty.

The newly introduced saving account One Woman One Bank Account Policy would promote financial participation.
