Cabinet Committee approves summaries regarding board appointments in various ministries

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb chairs a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Institutions on Friday to approve summaries related to governance and board appointments of various ministries, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

During the meeting, Independent Directors were approved on Board of Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Center. 

The reconstitution of Board of State Life Insurance Corporation was also given green signal. Moreover, the dissolution plan of National Construction Limited and PEPAC was also okayed during the meeting. 

The meeting also approved the reconstitution of the Board of Governors of Pakistan Institute of Management Karachi, new composition of the Board of PTV Corporation and nomination of new members to the boards of Interstate Gas Systems, PSO and SSGC. 

It was directed that corporate governance training is mandatory for board members of all government institutions in 6 months. During the meeting, a Sub-committee was formed on classification of government institutions of Petroleum Division. The committee will be headed by the Minister of Petroleum which will submits its recommendations to the Cabinet Committee on Government Institutions.
