Special assistant to KP chief minister contracts coronavirus
Kamran Bangash – Special Assistant to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM for Local Government and Rural Development – was tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.
According to reports, Bangash has been quarantined at his home while 11 of his family members are also tested for the virus as a part of the tracing mechanism.
Officials say he was active in the field supervising the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar and had also visited the southern districts recently.
One of the most active members of the ruling party, Bangash was elected to the provincial assembly from PK-77, Peshawar XII.
He is the first lawmaker in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to contract the coronavirus.
In his last tweet posted on Friday night, Bangash called for remembering the brave people who sacrificed their lives while fighting the pandemic.

Earlier in the day, a senior doctor died of coronavirus in Peshawar. Dr Prof Javed was being treated at the isolation centre of Hayatabad Medical Complex as he had been diagnosed with the virus 15 days ago. He breathed his last after remaining on a ventilator for the past few days.
The deceased doctor was working in the ENT Department of Hayatabad Medical Complex.
