Noting he is fighting a war against the incompetent government, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman on Friday said he wasn’t Gen Niazi that he would lay down his arms and surrender, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Both the establishment and the ruling PTI were backing the views expressed by Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani, he added.
Fazl, who was talking to media persons in DI Khan, said, “There are some behind the scene forces which are playing this game against us,” and described the PML-F as B team of the establishment.
These remarks about the PML-F came as Muhammad Ali Durrani on Thursday said he had conveyed a special message of his party chief Pir Pagara to PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, asking him to follow the “track-II dialogue”.
Meanwhile, Fazl also revealed that police said that there was pressure on them to “close” [withdraw] security being provided to him.
He said there a complete consensus among the opposition parties that the PTI government would have to go. But talks could be held if the government decided to resign and announced fresh general elections.
Earlier in the day, the JUI-F expelled the renegade leaders from the party, ending the basic party membership of Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani, Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan and Maulana Shuja-ul-Mulk.
But the aggressive JUI-F did not stop there and also decided to file a reference with the Supreme Judicial Council against NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.
In this connection, a legal team will move the body under Article 209 by filing the reference pertaining to the alleged video concerning the NAB chairman.
