CDF Asim Munir attends Christmas celebrations at Christchurch in Rawalpindi
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reiterated Armed Forces’ commitment to protect dignity, security and equal rights of all Pakistani citizens as per the Constitution, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to an ISPR statement released on Thursday, Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Rawalpindi’s Christchurch and took part in Christmas celebrations.
The Field Marshal lauded the long-standing contributions of Pakistani Christians in national development and security, He also commended proud and distinguished contributions of Christian community in Pakistan’s Armed Forces from generation to generation
The Field Marshal stressed the importance of interfaith harmony, mutual respect and unity. Pakistan’s strength lies in diversity, equal opportunities and shared constitutional values beyond religion, race, caste and creed, he added.
Leaders of Christian community expressed gratitude for the Field Marshal’s visit to the church.
Christian leaders praised Armed Forces’ role in defending homeland, promoting religious harmony and national unity.
During the visit, the Field Marshal extended warm Christmas greetings to members of the Christian community and conveyed his best wishes for peace, harmony and prosperity.
He also paid tribute to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his birth anniversary, highlighting the founder of Pakistan’s vision of equality and religious freedom.
Asim Munir stressed the importance of interfaith harmony and national unity, describing the protection of minority rights as a fundamental pillar of Pakistan’s ideology.
He said Pakistan’s strength lies in equal opportunities and adherence to constitutional values, reaffirming that equality and freedom of religion, in line with Quaid-i-Azam’s vision, form the very foundation of the country.
