Several roads of Gilgit city were blocked by people to protest the deaths of five people in an incident of firing at a car at Naltar, Gilgit on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Eight others who were injured in the incident were taken to City Hospital, Gilgit. 

SSP Gilgit Mirza Hassan said the car was heading from Gilgit to Naltar when it was sprayed with bullets by the attackers.

SSP Hassan said cause of the firing could not be ascertained immediately. He said further investigation was under way.
