US cannot ignore Afghanistan

Pointing to the possibility of cooperation between the United States and the Taliban for a peaceful Afghanistan, senior journalists and analysts said that the US cannot ignore Afghanistan.
During 24NewsHD TV channel programme – DNA – senior journalists and analysts Salim Bokhari, Iftikhar Ahmad, PJ Mir and Javed Iqbal deliberated upon the Afghanistan situation, Prime Minister Imran Khan's interview with Newsweek, Indian atrocities against Muslims in Assam.
Salim Bokhari said that Russia, China and Pakistan have agreed with the United States to put pressure on the Taliban. However, he questioned if Pakistan is in a position to put pressure on the Taliban. Iftikhar Ahmed said increasing lawlessness in Afghanistan would have an adverse effect on Pakistan.
Javed Iqbal said that it was important to give time to the Taliban for rebuilding Afghanistan and it would be premature to draw any conclusions. Iftikhar Ahmad took up the statement of Taliban leader Mullah Nooruddin Turabi about reintroducing enforcement of stern punishments.
Salim Bokhari said: "How is it possible that you are suffering from economic hardship and waiting for the help of the world. "You also lack the ability to take advantage of the resources you have but you also threaten the world that they don't interfere in law enforcement, even if it's a human rights violation."
India has come under fire over terrorism in Assam under Modi rule. Salim Bokhari said the scope of atrocities of Indian police reached from Kashmir to Assam because the world turned a blind eye. He said that Indian occupied Kashmir is the worst example of state repression and cited Rahul Gandhi's reaction to the Modi government's barbarism in Kashmir and Assam
The issue, Salim Bokhari said has been effectively voiced in the British Parliament. PJ Mir said that the British MP had said that the Indian High Commissioner would be barred from entering the British Parliament.
He said the British Parliament questioned the justification of the Unitised Nation if the world body fails to enforce its resolutions. Iftikhar Ahmed said that PM Imran will address the UN General Assembly in a virtual session in which Indian terrorism, Taliban government will be discussed.
Salim Bokhari said the situation in the region demand the PM be in the US so that he could better present his position to the world. PJ Mir said in the past, Pakistan had no hand in the Mumbai attacks but Islamabad failed to clear its position in a better way despite solid evidence. Salim Bokhari said that he did not agree with the position of the Prime Minister that the withdrawal from Afghanistan will not affect the reputation of the United States. He said that the United States has suffered a severe blow and criticism continues.
