Meera shares heart-wrenching letter for sister Shaista Abbas battling cancer
Pakistani film star Meera has poured her heart out in a series of emotional social media posts dedicated to her younger sister, Shaista Abbas, describing her as her inspiration, pride and strength while expressing how deeply she longs to be by her side during her difficult health battle.
Taking to Instagram, Meera shared several posts featuring pictures and glimpses of Shaista, accompanied by deeply personal messages recalling their childhood memories, her sister’s professional journey and the bond they share as siblings.
In one emotional post, Meera admitted that she was struggling with feelings of helplessness and emptiness while missing her younger sister.
“Right now, I am sitting alone and I am feeling so helpless, so low, so empty. My heart feels very heavy. I miss you so much,” she wrote.
Meera said she knows that Shaista is extremely weak and unable to speak at the moment, adding that she desperately wishes to hear her sister call her “Baji” one more time.
In another lengthy post titled “A Letter to My Younger Sister, My Beautiful Lawyer Shaista Abbas,” Meera reflected on her sister’s determination from childhood and the sacrifices she made to pursue her ambitions.
Recalling their nights at home, the actress remembered how Shaista would continue studying long after everyone else had gone to sleep.
“You might be younger than me, but you have taught me what strength really means,” Meera wrote.
She recalled Shaista sitting surrounded by books and promising, “Baji, just one more page,” only for that one page to turn into an entire night of studying.
Meera proudly highlighted her sister’s journey to London, where she completed her law degree and established herself as a lawyer despite the challenges of living and studying in a foreign country.
She described Shaista as “beautiful, smart, and respected,” calling her a true example of “beauty with brains.”
The actress also recalled another chapter of her sister’s career, revealing that Shaista later appeared as the main lead in the television serial Seep.
“From the courtroom to the TV screen you shined everywhere. That is your talent, my little sister,” Meera penned.
Turning to her sister’s current health struggle, Meera acknowledged that Shaista is battling cancer and encouraged her to draw upon the same courage that helped her overcome the challenges of her academic journey.
“You are brave. You are strong. You are a warrior,” she wrote, adding prayers for her sister’s recovery.
Meera concluded the heartfelt letter by expressing her hope that the two sisters would be together again.
“You are my strength. You are my everything. You are my pride, always and forever,” she wrote. “Get well soon, my beautiful lawyer. We will be together again, both sisters, forever together.”
In a separate post, Meera once again described Shaista as an inspiration and recalled witnessing her determination throughout her journey.
“Even though you are younger than me, you inspire me every single day,” she wrote, praising her sister for working tirelessly to achieve her dream of becoming a lawyer in London.
Meera also offered prayers for Shaista’s health, success and happiness, asking Allah to protect her from every evil eye.
“Your elder sister is always with you, praying for you in every step. I love you so much, my little superstar,” she concluded.
