Eight people were killed and 11 injured in an armed clash between two tribes — Sher Jan Kalay and Sago Kalay — in the Mehora area of Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over a land dispute on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The long-running land dispute turned deadly when both tribesmen opened firing at each other in the morning.

The dead included Miqdar Hussain, Istaqlal Hussain, Syed Abid Hussain, Syed Imdad, Ali Hassan, Qaisar Husain, Ali Nabi and Shaukat Hussain.

The 11 injured including three in critical condition were shifted to the Parachinar Hospital in Kurram

Kurram DPO Tahir Iqbal said that police contingents have reached the area and investigations were underway.

Moreover, civil society activists demanded KP CM Mehmood Khan to put a permanent end to the bloodshed on land dispute.

The local tribal leaders urged authorities to solve the shamlat land dispute in Kurram district to end the cycle of precious loss of lives in deadly clashes that have become a routine now.
