The Directorate General Monitoring and Evaluation (DGM&E) Saturday declared Khadim-e-Punjab Ujaala Programme of former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif a successful project, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It is learnt that the previous government had started a project named “Khadim-e-Punjab Ujaala Programme” for installing solar panels in the public schools that were lacking electricity supply.

In the first phase of the project, solar panels were installed at as many as 10,000 public schools at a cost of Rs8.25 billion.

The DGM&E declared the Ujaala programme a successful project by giving it 74 marks. According to the SOPs of evaluation, a project which gets above 70 marks is considered to be successful.
