Two extortionists bite the dust in Rangers operation in Karachi

Two accused who belonged to a notorious extortion group, Jamil Changa and Zahid Ladla, were killed during a joint operation of Pakistan Rangers and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The police encounter took place in Garden area of Karachi.

Both accused were involved in delivering extortion notes to different businessmen, shopkeepers, owners of under-construction project and restaurants in Soldier Bazar and Jamshed Town area of Karachi.

The accused were later identified as Mohammad Hassan alias Balcha and Tanveer Ali alias Teetar. 

A spokesman of Pakistan Rangers said that both accused spread harassment in the area by aerial firing in case somebody refused to give them extortion money.

A spokesman said that both accused were involved in more than 300 criminal cases. The police further revealed that both accused were police record holders and spent jail terms many times in the past.
