Musarrat Cheema urges govt to reduce prices of vegetables and commodities
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Musarrat Jamshed Cheema has demanded of the government to reduce the prices of vegetables and commodities by focusing on the supply chain.
Musarrat Cheema said there is a need to make advance arrangements now regarding wheat production in the upcoming season so that the people do not face any difficult situation.
In his statement, Musarrat Cheema said that the government has proposed a wheat production target of 29.68 million metric tons, while last year it was 33.58 million tons.
She demanded that if the farmer gets a good price for his crop, he will cultivate wheat with joy.
Cheema said, “if the valuable foreign exchange reserves that we spend on importing wheat and other products are given to our farmers in the form of a better support price, then our economy will also develop”.
Mussarat Cheema said that a plan should be brought for cultivating vegetables on vacant land and farms of government departments and after preparation, the government should deliver it directly to the market so that the public can get vegetables at cheap prices.
Mussarat Cheema demanded fruit trees should be planted in motorcades and other vacant spaces, and their fruits should be for those classes who do not have the means.
