Govt decides to rebuild dilapidated internal roads in Karachi
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting to review the construction of internal roads of Karachi. The Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Shah, Saeed Ghani, Jam Khan Shoro, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Principal Secretary Agha Wasif, Commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi and Secretary Local Government Waseem Shamshad participated the meeting.
During the meeting, Sindh CM issues instructions to Mayor Karachi and Local Government Department to complete the survey of the dilapidated roads.
Sindh Cm said during recent rains have damaged Karachi's internal roads therefore KMC and towns should prepare schemes under the supervision of the Local Government Department.
All roads in Karachi should be repaired or reconstructed, said Sindh Chief Minister. He said a drainage system should also be built along the roads.
Sindh Chief Minister said, “If there is a drainage system, rainwater will drain and the roads will not deteriorate”.
Karachi Mayor said a survey of the dilapidated roads of KMC was being conducted., The Minister for Local Government said towns have been instructed to survey their roads. The survey is going on rapidly as as soon as the survey is completed, schemes will be prepared and approval will be sought from the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister of Sindh instructed the Local Government Department that the cleanliness work in Karachi city should be further improved.
