Federal government issues transfers, appointments across key divisions
The federal government has ordered the appointment and transfer of several senior officers in different ministries and divisions, according to separate notifications issued by the Establishment Division with the approval of the prime minister.
Malik Khurram Shahzad has been appointed as Director (Monitoring and Evaluation) (PPS-10) in the ongoing “Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP)” under the Ministry of IT. The appointment has been made on a two-year contract in accordance with the prescribed terms and conditions.
In another development, OSD Umar Jahangir of the Pakistan Administrative Service (Grade 19), currently serving in the Establishment Division, has been appointed as Trade and Investment Counsellor at the Pakistan High Commission in Singapore. He will report back to the Establishment Division upon completion of his three-year tenure.
Deputy Secretary Shehzad Khursheed has been transferred from the National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division and posted as Deputy Secretary in the Power Division.
Deputy Secretary Poverty Alleviation Division Abdul Karim Rind and Deputy Secretary Water Resources Division Abdul Waheed Thahim have both been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division.
Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary Zahid Nazir has been transferred from the National Security Division to the Finance Division. Deputy Secretary Economic Affairs Division Majid Abbas has been transferred and appointed as Director in the Presidency on deputation for an initial period of three years.
In a separate notification, Asad Iqbal, who was serving on deputation in the Benazir Income Support Programme, has been transferred and posted as Section Officer in the Finance Division.
The Establishment Division has issued official notifications regarding all appointments and transfers.
