All private schools in Sindh ordered to take safety measures

School Education Department has issued instructions to all private schools across Sindh to ensure fire safety measures, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. 

School Education Department ordered immediate implementation in private educational institutions.

Installation of fire alarms, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers has been declared mandatory.

It was directed to keep emergency routes and stairs open and clear.

Regular inspection of electrical systems in schools has also been made mandatory.

Education Department ordered to display fire evacuation plans at prominent places and fire drills must be conducted at least twice a year.

Fire safety training of teachers and staff has been declared mandatory as well.

Special safety arrangements for disabled students were also ordered.

Determination of assembly points also made mandatory.

The Education Department warned strict action against schools that do not follow the instructions.
