Quetta to get AI based traffic signals
The Balochistan government has decided to install AI-based traffic signals in Quetta as part of efforts to provide a permanent solution to the city's traffic problems, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
According to details, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti chaired a meeting to review the strategy for implementing a modern traffic management system in the provincial capital.
During the meeting, it was briefed that modern AI-based traffic signals would be activated to manage increasing traffic pressure and improve the flow of vehicles across the city.
Mir Sarfaraz Bugti directed the relevant departments to ensure coordinated measures for the implementation of an effective, sustainable and modern traffic system.
He said improving traffic flow through modern technology and providing better travel facilities to citizens were among the government's priorities. The chief minister said the use of AI-based traffic management would help reduce travel time, improve road safety and strengthen monitoring and discipline on roads.
He added that equipping Quetta with modern urban infrastructure remains a key priority of the Balochistan government.
