A traffic sergeant has injured driver of a passenger coach and his conductor on demanding challan receipt when the former tried to fine the driver for violating traffic rules, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Reportedly, traffic police subjected a driver Muhammad Ali and his conductor to torture when the driver asked him to give receipt of the challan. The cop imposed a fine of Rs5,320 on the driver of a flying coach for parking his vehicle by the side of the road in violation of the traffic rules. The driver implored that he stationed his coach in wait for the passenger. But the traffic sergeant was persistent to punish him for his violation.

He imposed a Rs5,320 challan on the driver. When the driver asked the sergeant to give him the receipt of the challan, the infuriated traffic cop started beating up the driver and his conductor.

On the other hand, the traffic police said that the driver started arguing with the traffic sergeant when the latter was issuing him the ticket. The traffic cop stated that it was a self-inflicted injury by the driver. The traffic police further said that both the driver and his conductor blocked the road in protest.

The injured driver lodged a complaint against the traffic sergeant from Lady Reading Hospital’s casualty ward.

Driver Muhammad Ali and his conductor requested the higher authorities to launch an inquiry into the incident.
