55 police officers transferred, posted in Punjab

Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Dr Usman Anwar on Thursday approved a major reshuffle across the province, transferring and posting 55 officers in an effort to improve departmental efficiency and strengthen law-enforcement operations.

According to the notification, several key investigation and operational positions in major districts—including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Chakwal, Attock, Okara and Rajanpur—have been reassigned.

Major Investigation-Wing Appointments

Ijaz Ahmed Dhillon has been appointed DSP Investigation Kahna, replacing Usman Haider, who has proceeded on a JCC course.

Hasnain Haider has taken charge as DSP Investigation Civil Lines.

Mudassirullah Khan has been appointed DSP Investigation Naulakha.

Ali Akbar has joined as DSP Investigation Gulshan Ravi, while Iftikhar Rasool has moved to the JCC course.

ASP-Level Transfers

ASP Farastullah Afridi has been posted to Wazirabad, Gujranwala.

ASP Basil Arez Farooqui has assumed duty in People’s Colony, Faisalabad.

ASP Wahid Bakhsh has been transferred to Depalpur, Okara.

District-Level DSP Appointments

Yasir Matlub has become DSP Hasan Abdal, Attock.

Abdul Aziz is posted DSP Talagang, Chakwal.

Saad Saud Safdar has moved to Faisalabad as DSP Investigation.

Muhammad Niaz Khan has been appointed DSP Khayali, Gujranwala.

Athar Ali has joined as Nankana Sahib DSP Organized Crime.

Gohar Abbas is now DSP Daska, Sialkot.

Ijaz Ahmed has been posted to CCD Gujrat.

Farooq Ahmed Khan has taked charge as DSP Headquarters Rajanpur.

SDPO-Level Postings

Saad Saud, previously SDPO People’s Colony Faisalabad, has been posted DSP Investigation II.

Abdul Hameed has been transferred from Wazirabad to assume duties as SDPO Circle People’s Colony.

Asif Ali, SDPO Jhang, has been posted to the Central Police Office.

Abdul Hameed Gujjar has been appointed SDPO City Jhang after serving in Organized Crimes Toba.

Reshuffle Aimed at Strengthening Policing

Officials say the large-scale reshuffle is part of the Punjab Police’s ongoing efforts to boost investigative capacity, improve district-level performance, and ensure efficient deployment of experienced officers across the province.

More transfers and structural adjustments are expected as part of the broader administrative reforms underway.
