ECC approves gas, electricity rates for export sector

The Economic Coordination Committee that met with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair approved competitive gas and electricity rates for the export sector, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday
The Electricity rates will be applicable from August 1 and gas rates from July 1. The meeting approved the lease of the Kandhkot mining area for 15 years. Steel mills employees will be paid salaries every month
It okayed a supplementary grant of Rs30 billion to meet the needs of the Ministry of Defence. The renewal of 11 petroleum exploration licences and a supplementary grant of Rs1 billion for the Ministry of Housing have also been approved.
