School teacher gunned down near Dalori Check Post in Swabi

A schoolteacher was shot dead on Monday when unidentified gunmen opened fire near Dalori Check Post in Swabi.. 

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the teacher was on his way to school when assailants opened fire, killing him on the spot.

Following the shooting, the attackers managed to flee from the scene. Police immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. 

According to the police, the victim’s body was shifted to a nearby hospital, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.

Authorities stated that the educator was targeted while commuting to work, but the motive behind the attack remains unclear.

It is noteworthy that six months ago, a similar incident occurred in Swabi in which two educators, a school principal and a teacher, were killed by unidentified gunmen on May 27, 2025. 

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Principal Aizaz Khan of a private school was travelling with Teacher Hamza on a motorcycle when they were ambushed in the Panch Pir Shagi Lar area.

Unidentified gunmen, who had been lying in wait, opened fire, fatally wounding both men before escaping. The victims, who were first cousins, were shifted by Rescue 1122 to Bacha Khan Medical Complex for post-mortem examinations. Police collected forensic evidence from the scene to aid in their investigation.

In a separate incident in Khairpur on Monday, police arrested a 12-member group of women accused of stealing seven tolas of gold from a teacher’s house through deception. 

According to SSP Hassan Sardar Niazi, the suspects were apprehended at the Thehri area after police sealed off city routes and tracked them down using CCTV footage.

The arrested women were identified as Muskan, Nosheen, Noori, Shaista, and Sughra, among others. They were transferred to the A-Section Police Station, where further investigation is underway.
