Ali Zafar makes antagonist debut alongside Sajal and Bilal Abbas in Lahu
Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar has been set to make a much awaited return to the television screen with the upcoming mega thriller drama Lahu, marking his comeback to scripted Pakistani TV after nearly two decades.
Adding another intriguing dimension to his return, Ali Zafar is reportedly set to portray an antagonist in Lahu. The shift from leading-man roles to a darker character has already generated considerable curiosity among drama viewers and his fans.
The upcoming drama boasts an impressive cast, with Sajal Aly and Bilal Abbas Khan taking on the lead roles. Ali’s inclusion in a prominent, reportedly villainous role is expected to bring another layer of intensity to the highly anticipated project.
Titled Lahu, meaning “Blood,” the drama has been penned by writer Saqlain Abbas and is being directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain, who previously helmed the acclaimed revenge thriller Khaie.
Billed as a high-budget revenge saga, the upcoming series is being produced for Geo Entertainment and is expected to feature the breathtaking landscapes of Pakistan’s northern areas as part of its filming locations.
Known for his successful music career and films including Teefa in Trouble (2018), Ali has remained largely away from television dramas in recent years. His last reported PTV drama appearance was Jugnu Aur Anchal in 2004, making his return to a scripted television project a significant comeback.
