Due to the flood in southern areas of Punjab, the supply of electricity and telephone service have been affected, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Sunday.

According to the report, Federal Minister Asad Mehmood has directed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) chairman to restore the services immediately.

Asad Mehmood also made telephonic contact with Minister Khurram Dastgir for the restoration of electricity supply in the flood-hit areas of South Punjab.

The report said the federal energy minister assured him to restore electricity facilities soon.

Maulana Asad said due to the flood, the electricity system has been severely affected in Tank, DI Khan and other districts. He said due to the lack of electricity, the problems of the flood victims have increased.

While due to the affected telephone services, there are difficulties in communication in the area, Maulana Asad Mahmood added.
