Govt allows five new cement factories construction

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Shehbaz Gill on Monday told 24NewsHD TV channel that keeping in view increase in demand for cement in the country, the government has given a green signal to set up five new cement factories immediately.  

He added the new factories would be installed at Chakwal, Attock and other places.

Gill said the government had received 14 applications for setting up cement factories since 2012.

Gill told 24News that 25 per cent surge in cement demand had been noticed due to growth in the construction sector.  

He assured that the new factories would be set up in the light of Supreme Court (SC) orders, and would not cause environmental pollution.  

He informed that five new cement factories would attract Rs200 billion worth of investment.
