Pakistan Monday reported 1,974 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.

There were 55 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 9,929 that represents a ratio of 2%.

According to the latest figures, 1,974 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 32,205 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 423,892 that returned positive after conducting 6,589,317 total tests so far.

The number of active cases in the country reached 39,488 with 2,263 patients in critical condition.

There were 1,760 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 423,892 with an 89.6% recovery rate.

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 482 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 136,147 with 9, 946 active cases. The province reported 21 new virus-related death as the death toll reached 3,921. With 291 new recoveries, 122,280 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

The most affected province Sindh has once again recorded 1,035 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 211,276 with 20,018 active cases. The province reported 22 new deaths as the death toll reached 3,491. With 732 new recoveries, 187,767 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 252 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 57,467 with 3,930 active cases. The province reported 7 new virus-related death as the death toll reached 1,609. With 376 new recoveries, 51,928 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan has recorded another 7 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 18,082 with 281 active cases. The province reported no new virus-related death as the death toll remains at 182. With 33 new recoveries, 17,619 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad has recorded 155 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 37,272 with 4,722 active cases. Three new deaths were reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 407. With 248 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 32,143 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 43 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 8,215 with 528 active cases. With 2 new deaths reported, the death toll reached at 218. There were 77 new recoveries in the AJK as 7,469 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded three new cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 4,850 with 63 active cases. With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 101. There were three new recoveries reported as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,686.
