Power tariff increased again

The federal government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday increased the power tariff by 18 paisa per unit. 

According to a notification issued by the Power Ministry on Monday evening, now the average power tariff has increased from Rs13.35 per unit to Rs13.53 per unit. For the consumers who use 300 or less units every month, the government has increased the power tariff by 15 paisa per unit. 

According to the notification, such consumers will have to pay an extra 3 paisa per unit in case they use more than 300 units of electricity. This tariff increase will be effective from this month, December 2020. The notification also says that this tariff increase has been made for 10 months.
