Two TTP militants arrested in Karachi

In a raid on Tuesday, the Karachi East police detained two suspected militants linked with the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group, reported 24NewsHD TV.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Qamar Raza Jiskani said the detained men who were arrested on the information provided by the SITE-Superhighway police had been identified as Anas Khan and Firdous.
The SSP East said that the police recovered two hand grenades and a pistol from their possession.
According to Jiskani, suspect Anas was once arrested in Afghanistan and remained in Pul-e-Charkhi prison from 2007 to 2012.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Anas’ father named Mehboob was a member of the TTP Waziristan. His father was killed the Waziristan operation in 2020.
The officer added that previous record of the arrested accused is being further checked.
