Police take woman’s husband into custody for questioning: Crime Scene Unit investigates suspected domestic dispute case
The bodies of a woman and three children were recovered from a house in the Sohrab Goth area of Karachi on Sunday, in an incident that police have initially described as an apparent case of suicide.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, all four victims were found hanging inside the house, prompting an immediate response from police and Rangers, who cordoned off the area and began preliminary investigations.
Police officials said the deceased included two boys and a girl, adding that one of the children was reportedly a stepdaughter of the woman.
The woman’s second husband has been taken into custody for questioning as part of the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
According to the police, the tragic incident may have stemmed from a domestic dispute, though investigators cautioned that all possibilities were being examined.
The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examinations to determine the exact cause of death.
Crime Scene Unit officials collected evidence from the house, while law enforcement agencies continued to probe the matter.
Police said further details would emerge after forensic and medical reports are received.
