LHC declares case against Babar Azam as null and void

The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued a written order declaring filing of a case against former Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam as null and void, reported 24News HD Channel on Saturday.

During the hearing, the court also accepted a petition filed by Babar Azam challenged the filing of the case against him.

In his petition, cricketer Babar Azam challenged the Justice of the Peace ruling for filing a case against him.

Justice of Peace forwarded an application filed by Humaiza Mukhtar for filing of a first information report (FIR) against Babar Azam.

In her petition, the woman stated that Babar Azam promised to marry her after trapping him. She further alleged that she became pregnant at one time.

Later, the court issued an 8-page written order. Barrister Haris Azmat appeared in the case on behalf of Babar Azam.

The verdict stated that the Court, after hearing the arguments of both sides and also examining the full record of the case, came to conclusion that all the allegations against him are baseless.

After hearing the arguments, the court declared order of Justice of Peace as null and void.

With the Lahore High Court’s ruling, the sexual harassment and blackmail allegations against Babar Azam are formally closed. The judgment clears him of all accusations, allowing him to fully focus on cricket without the shadow of legal uncertainty or reputational damage. 

For the public and legal observers, the case underscores the importance of due process, credibility, and fairness, while for Azam, it marks a return to normalcy both on and off the field.
