Ishaq Dar to meet Marco Rubio during official US visit
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will travel to Washington DC, on an official visit tomorrow after completing engagements in New York City, the Foreign Office said on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Dar is scheduled to meet US Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Marco Rubio during the visit.
The two sides are expected to discuss bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States, as well as regional and global developments, the statement said.
Talks will also focus on enhancing cooperation in key sectors and promoting peace and stability in the region.
The Foreign Office said Pakistan remains committed to promoting regional peace through dialogue and diplomacy, adding that Dar’s visit reflects the longstanding relationship between Islamabad and Washington.
After completing his official engagements, Dar will return to Pakistan, the statement added.
