A Punjab Food Authority (PFA) team was attacked by unidentified persons during a routine checkup of milk transporters at Hasilpur Road in district Vehari, reported Rohi TV channel Wednesday.

Unidentified assailants attacked the PFA team’s Mobile Testing Van and thrashed female team members of the food watchdog. It has been reported the attackers also lashed male staffer including the driver of the mobile testing van.

Punjab Food Authority spokesperson said the injured staffers were shifted to DHQ Vehari for medical treatment.

The PFA has also lodged an FIR against the aggressors and vowed to continue the public service despite such incidents.

PFA Director General Irfan Nawaz Memon has directed PFA Director South-II to increase the security of the staffers and to continue the routine checkups to nab milk adulteration in the region.

The DG expressed his resolve to overcome all hurdles in providing public clean and healthy food.
